Pastor 2018 - 2020

Leon Leonard Sr. was our pastor from 2018 to November 2020, when he was unable to continue preaching due to health issues.

H. W. McCoy

Head Deacon/Sunday School Director

"H" was a giant with the heart of gold. A steeple of his family and community, H and his ancestors were members of CLBC since its origin.

Ruth & Norman Gatlin

Deacon/Church Registrar/Secretary/Teachers

Ruth and Norman Gatlin were pillars of the church, serving in almost every capacity possible over their many years as members. Their passions were God, family, and roping cows.

Bro. John Taylor

Pastor 2010 - 2014

John Taylor was a great pastor and was loved by all with his quick wit and "spizderinkdum." He gave his last sermon from home via Skype before he passed.

Perry Maxwell

A devoted man to God and family, he and his wife Barbara were members of CLBC for about 5 years

Mina Evans 

1925-2017

​

Mina Evans was the Children's Sunday School teacher for CLBC for many years. Her favorite hymn, "In the Garden," is sang regularly in her memory.

Mary & Leon Evans

 1929-2019

​

Mary and Leon Evans were a couple rooted in faith. Mary was a caretaker until she needed one for herself, and Leon often help lead profound discussions about God.

Mack & Bonnie Nesmith

1933 - 2020        1929 - 2019

​

Bonnie was kindly known as "Candy Girl" at church, always lugging a large bag of hard candies to share. She and Mack had a farm near the church with donkey Moses, who received a lot of affection from church members.

Malfred Washington

1935-2018

​

 Malfred attended CLBC with his wife, Gertrude, for many years in between his trips to Odessa to visit family. They consider CLBC their home church.

Vickie Booth

1956-2020

​

Vickie was passionate for many things, but nothing was greater than her love of family. Her grandchildren and great-grand children filled up her heart, and the pews, when they came to visit!
